June 2026 - The author investigated ginger’s potential effects on exercise-induced muscle pain.
Unaccustomed eccentric exercise (eg, lowering heavy dumbbells) can be used to cause (biceps) muscle injury, inflammation, and pain 24–72 hours postexercise, the magnitude of which can be controlled by manipulating the number of repetitions and/or the intensity of the exercise.
