Ground spices or herbs for human research or certain in vitro studies
One of MSI’s goals is to help improve the quality and reproducibility of future research by providing characterized ground spices and herbs to qualified investigators. MSI has established a library of ground spices and herbs characterized on the basis of taxonomy and geographic origin to help provide such reproducibility.

Subsequent lots of these spices and herbs (if necessary) will be matched on these parameters as closely as possible.
Characterized ground spices and herbs are offered free of charge to researchers conducting human studies who meet the following criteria:
- Intention to publish findings in the scientific literature
- Affiliation with a credible university or other research institution
- IRB approval
- Inclusion of GROUND spices or herbs in the research protocol. STUDIES THAT PROPOSE TO MAKE EXTRACTS FROM MSI CHARACTERIZED SAMPLES BEFORE USE WILL NOT BE APPROVED
